The genre has come SO far from the stuff that was available when I was growing up.
4. I love YA fiction because life is tough enough. I need only turn on the TV for that reminder. I want my stories to take me to magical places. For some reason adults lose that yearning for magic as they grow up so it shines best in YA fiction.Tales of Whimsyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10938494589922620170noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8113209008247098872.post-80785258303228613682009-07-28T09:48:34.034-07:002009-07-28T09:48:34.034-07:00Laura,

As a matter of fact I share books with my 17 year old so it is like we have twice the books now. :)

I wanted to let you know that I received my copy of Suite Scarlet yesterday and I can't wait to read it - as soon as the 17 year old finishes with it. :)

Thank you again.

MichelleMichelle Greathousehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06175297774187025193noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8113209008247098872.post-79704943479647926872009-07-26T23:35:18.427-07:002009-07-26T23:35:18.427-07:00What a story. I hope someday my Mom will read what I'm reading now without freaking out if she finds out books like those by Stephanie Kuehnert or Barry Lyga :)Thaohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02357693108313666916noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8113209008247098872.post-90557535591183863892009-07-26T09:42:12.224-07:002009-07-26T09:42:12.224-07:00The Giver by Lois Lowry is my ultimate favorite bo...The Giver by Lois Lowry is my ultimate favorite book ever. It opened my mind as a teen to reading. It also opened my interest in all things "not" normal. That alternate reality in The Giver was amazing and thought provoking. Loved it.

I'm glad that you read books your daughter is reading. It's great to understand what they are reading. I hope to do that for my daughter too. She, however, just turned 5 this week! :)Jess (The Cozy Reader)https://www.blogger.com/profile/09952470536106390326noreply@blogger.com
